A Dreamkin is a magical being born from the very heart of a story.

Some awaken from ancient folklore whispered through the ages, others from fairy tales, myth, legends, nursery rhymes, songs, poems or entirely new stories that are waiting to be told. Wherever imagination lives a Dreamkin can be born.

No matter where they come from, every Dreamkin carries a piece of the story that brought them to life.

But stories seldom care for themselves…

Hidden deep within an ancient forest stands the Great Library Tree.

Within its towering trunk lies the Universal Library—a magical sanctuary where every story ever imagined, and every Dreamkin born from those stories, is carefully preserved.

The Library’s endless shelves hold forgotten legends, beloved fairy tales, myths from every corner of the world, and stories that have yet to find their way into the hearts of dreamers.

Watching over this sacred place are the Guardians.

Each Guardian has a unique purpose in the life of every story.

From dreaming new worlds into existence and weaving the first threads of imagination, to writing, illustrating, refining, preserving, and sharing tales with others, together they ensure that no story is ever truly lost.

As long as stories continue to be imagined, told, and cherished, new Dreamkin will always be born.

The Great Library Tree

Home to every story ever told- and yet to be imagined- The Great Library Tree stands at the Heart of Fable Dreamkin. Hidden deep within its ancient trunk, branches and even its roots, billions of stories rest upon endless bookshelves, watched over by The Storey Holder.

Above, the ceiling shimmers like an endless night sky shaped by The Dreamer, while woven across the library floor lies a red carpet lined with golden thread crafted by The Weaver Witch. Its enchanted threads never lead you to the story you want but alaways to the story you need.

Meet The Guardians!

Guardians of Storytelling itself and the Great Library Tree. Protectors of story and Dreamkin Kind, their goal is that no story is to be forgotten or left untold. Each Guardian has their own unique and special role in this world of stories!

The Dreamer

The Dreamer walks unseen through the dreams of sleeping souls, discovering the sparks of imagination sleeping within them, The Dreamer gathers forgotten ideas and nurtures impossible worlds, helping to plant and cultivate the seeds of inspiration in the hearts of those who are destined to create.

A dream has the potential to become a story, a painting, a song or and entirely new world that's just waiting to be discovered. Some dreams fade with the morning light... but others are carried to The Dreamer, who makes sure that those tales are woven into stories that can last forever. Without the Dreamer, new stories would never find their way into the world.

The Weaver Witch

When pages are lost, torn away or forgotten by time The Weaver Witch quietly begins her search.

Guided by enchanted thread, she journeys through forests, dreams and forgotten corners of the world to find every missing piece or page.

With a needle spun from magic and thread woven from memory, she carefully binds each page back into its rightful book, mending stories before they are lost forever.

Every stich is a promise...

That every tale deserves to be whole again.

The Illustrator

The Illustrator gives every story its face.

With enchanted paints, brushes and pencils, they breath colour into the words, allowing readers to glimpse worlds they have never seen.

The Writer

The Writer carefully records every tale that reaches The Great Library tree, ensuring no story is ever forgotten.

With fountain pen in hand, the Writer transforms dreams, whispered legends, songs and spoken tales into words that can endure for generations.

Every page they write becomes part of the ever growing library, preserving stories from every corner of the world for those who are still waiting to discover them.

The Story Holder

The Story Holder is the guardian of The Great Library Tree.

The Story Holder watches over the endless shelves, carefully protecting every book, scroll and page that has ever found its way home.

No story is ever too old, too small or too forgotten to deserve a place upon the shelves.

The Editor

The Editor quietly watches over every tale before it is placed upon the shelves. She mends the broken sentences, smooths tangled plots and ensures every story remains true to the heart of its creator.

The Editor never changes a story's soul- only helps it become the very best version of itself.

The Time Keeper

The Time Keeper watches over the timeline of every story, ensuring that each tale unfolds exactly as it should.

They protect the past, present and future, preserving every beginning , ending and every chapter inbetween.

Without time, stories could never become legends.

The Teller

The Teller carries stories beyond the Great Library Tree, sharing them with villages, families and dreamers across the world.

Through voice, song and performance, forgotten tales find new hearts to call home.

The Translator

The Translator ensures that every story can be understood, no matter the language or culture from which it came.

They weave meaning between words so that tales may travel freely across the world without losing their heart.

The Gardener

The Gardener tends to The Great Library Tree, nurturing its roots, branches and blossoms.

As long as the tree continues to grow, new stories will always have a place to bloom.

Each leaf upon its branches represents a tale waiting to be discovered.

The Order of The Blank Page

Unlike the Guardians, The Order of the Blank Page believe that not all stories wish to be told.

The Order of the Blank Page is a secretive group devoted to controlling the stories of the world. Some believe certain tales are to dangerous to be read.

Others believe that stories should be re written, hidden or erased altogether.

They steal books from the Great Library Tree, capture Dreamkin and hunt down the scattered pages of unfinished stories before the Weaver Witch can bind them together.

The Order is made up of both ordinary beings and Dreamkin- including those whose own stories have been forgotten, abandoned or twisted over time.

They believe that they are protecting the world from the danger of stories.

But the Guardians believe something very different:

Each member of The Order of the Blank Page has a code name as well as a real name.

They all wear masks to hide their identities from the Guardians, but below you can find their code names and real names and their motivations.

The First Forgotton

Real Name: The Everyman

Inspiration: The Morality Play Everyman

Motive: Believes that every being deservers a story that will never be forgotten. He seeks to preserver stories permanently, even when doing so means removing them from the world.

The Endless

Real Name: Koschei The Deathless

Inspiration: Slavic folklore

Motive: Never wants stories to end, so steals them from authors who haven't finished writing their works.

The Curator

Real Name: Alexandria

Inspiration: The Great Library of Alexandria

Motive: Wants to collect and preserve stories, her passion turns preservation into possession, she doesn't trust others with stories or knowledge.

The Lost

Real Name: Bermuda

Inspiration: The Bermuda Triangle

Motive: Believes that a story is safest when no one can find it. Bermuda doesn't destroy stories, she makes them impossible to reach or find.

The Story Hoarder

Real Name: The Dragon

Inspiration: George and the Dragon

Motive: He doesn't necessarily want to destroy stories, he wants to posses them. Stories have become his treasures that nobody else is allowed to read.
